She's got a puff for me if my motor's clean...

Entitled to an opinion

You need caffeine, STAT. Waiting on the cooler than thou cashier to finish up with the five folks in front of you, in line at the local coffee shop. Tune up, tune in, tune out. The casual banter of hipsters and lay people tip-toe between an older Radiohead song, “Creep”, blasting from the overhead sound system.
And so it begins.
The fertile playing field opens up, the typical, “man, this is when Radiohead was something I could actually listen to.”
“Oh, I love new Radiohead, you’re just a cynical brooding jerkoff,” the token mainstream personality chimes in.
The barista de jour mutters something under her breath, as the sandwich artist behind the counter rolls his eyes, as per it is custom to disagree openly, physically, even at such an outrage. An all too often travesty of the day, having to listen to people’s mindless observations on music, from the popular to the obscure.
And then it hits you, Everybody is entitled to an opinion.
From the staunch lips of cranky connoisseurs, to the spoon fed lemmings hungry for whatever top forty deems today’s special, everyone has an opinion. And yes they are all entitled to it.
What aims to follow on this blog are all of my opinions, acute observations, educated guesses and happy accidents in my continual survey of music today.
Follow me like a bible, or tell me I am a snob. You can count on me to tell it like it is.
At least until they syndicate me.
